From first contribution to final payout — kikobas handles the complexity so you can focus on building your savings group.
Track every member's payment status in real time. Members pay to your chama's paybill, till, or bank account — the treasurer records each contribution with the M-Pesa reference, keeping everything clean and auditable.
Full application and approval workflow with simple or compound interest. The treasurer disburses funds and records it in the system — repayment schedules are calculated and tracked automatically from that point.
Configure your chama's M-Pesa paybill, Buy Goods till, or bank account once — members always know exactly where to pay. No merchant accounts to set up, no third-party credentials, full control stays with your chama.
Manage merry-go-round cycles with fixed, random, or bidding payout order. The treasurer records each payout when it's made — full history, no missed turns, no disputes.
Pool welfare contributions and support members in need. Full approval workflow — members apply, officers review and approve, the treasurer records the payout. Every step is logged and audited.
Immutable audit trail of every action taken. Financial summaries, contribution histories, and loan books — perfect for AGM transparency and building member trust.

An officer of the chama invites you using your email address. You will receive an email notification. Open the app and the chama will appear in your profile under "My Chamas".
Go to Profile → tap "+ Create New Chama". Follow the setup steps: enter a name, set contribution frequency and amount, configure your loan policy, and optionally set up your mobile money (M-Pesa or Airtel Money) payment destination.
A chama officer creates a contribution cycle with a start date, end date, and amount. Members record payments when they contribute. Officers can mark contributions as paid and track who is behind.
Go to Loans → Apply for Loan. Your maximum loan amount is based on your total contributions multiplied by the chama's loan multiplier. Submit your application with a purpose and repayment period. Officers will review and approve or reject it.
Fines are issued by chama officers for missed contributions, late repayments, or other policy violations. You can view fine details and dispute a fine with a written reason if you believe it was issued in error.
When you initiate a payment via the app, you will receive an STK push (payment prompt) on your phone from M-Pesa or Airtel Money, depending on your number. Enter your PIN to approve. The transaction is processed by your mobile money provider — kikobas records the reference for your chama's records.
If you are a regular member, go to Profile → Settings → request a phone number change. A chama officer must approve and process the change. If you are an officer, go to Members and update the phone directly.
If you belong to multiple chamas, tap the chama name in the top navigation bar to open a switcher. Select the chama you want to manage.
A Merry-Go-Round is a rotational savings scheme where each member takes turns receiving a fixed payout. Officers create an MGR cycle, assign the payout order, and record each payout as it is made.
Go to Reports in the bottom navigation. You can view summaries, loan books, arrears, and statements. On the web dashboard, reports can be exported as PDF or CSV.
